I have a notes section on my phone where I save words that resonate with my heart. This quote has been sitting in there but feels especially grounding for my heart right now when it starts to feel overwhelmed. "You can't go back and change the beginning but you can start where you are and change the ending." - C.S. Lewis
I'm overwhelmed at how little I knew of the racial injustices going on within our country and how many more injustices continue to go on and need more and more attention towards change as well. I keep praying that God will break my heart and keep my eyes and ears open for how I can contribute to change. Another big one on my heart is human trafficking (check out the life changing work that Freedom 4/24 is doing).
It all feels like too much sometimes and it's easy for me to feel paralyzed or like I'm not in a position to make much of a difference. But then I remember: Start where you are. Change the ending.
Where I am is at home with three little boys as one of the biggest influences in their life. Molding little hearts and modeling the love of God. Here's where I start. Can't think of a higher calling right now than pouring my heart and soul into changing the ending with these three.
